Carleton Wilson is a poet, editor, publisher, and freelance graphic designer who specializes in book typography and cover design. He worked as a production coordinator for the Journals Division, University of Toronto Press, from 2008–2010. Carleton received an Honours BA in English Literature from the University of Toronto and graduated with honours from George Brown College with an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design.
Carleton is the publisher and general editor of Junction Books, an independent Canadian press, and a poetry editor and book designer with Nightwood Editions, where he publishes his Junction Books imprint. To date, he has edited three award-winning poetry collections for Nightwood Editions, as well as a number of other collections that were shortlisted for various poetry awards across Canada. As a writer, Carleton has been awarded several accolades for his poetry, including winning the 1998 E.J. Pratt Medal in Poetry, as well as first prize in the University of Toronto Magazine Alumni Poetry Contest in 2007.
Carleton has designed and typeset dozens of books, and since graduating from GBC, he has become a Provisional member of the Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario and a Graduate member of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada.
