Junction Books is an independent Canadian press that I started in 1999. The mandate of Junction Books was to assist in establishing new Canadian writers by publishing their first collections of poetry or short fiction. Since its inception, over thirty-five chapbooks and several trade books have been published under the aegis of Junction Books and its imprint with Nightwood Editions.
For the past few years, Junction Books has been on hiatus while I went back to school. In 2010, I hope to relaunch the publishing program of Junction Books, but with a different mandate which I haven't quite figured out yet. I do know however that I am going to introduce a new way of producing the titles published through Junction Books, using print-on-demand technology in order to defray printing costs, which were such a burden in the previous incarnation of Junction Books.
I am still figuring out exactly where this will lead, but please check the new Junction Books blog every once in a while to see how things a progressing. Thanks for your interest.
